I am the national coordinator for Paediatric urology of the Spanish Urology Association (AEU), and a member of the European Board of Paediatric Urology and of the Spanish Paediatric Surgery Society (SECP). Between 1980 and 1990, I spent several periods with prestigious representatives of paediatric urology at Hôpital Debrousse, Lyon, Hospital de la Timone, Marseilles, Hospital Herlev Sygenus, Copenhagen and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA. I have participated as a speaker in more than one hundred national and international courses, and helped to organise 18 of them. I am the author of more than 80 scientific articles published in the most prestigious journals of my specialty. In 1997 I was the recipient of the Julio Monereo prize from the Spanish Paediatric Surgery Society. In the same year, the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God recognised my doctoral thesis with the Prize for the best research paper.
