Since 2017 the Hospital has treated 140 patients from China, especially with cutting-edge treatments such as immunotherapy for neuroblastoma.
In early November, a collaboration agreement was signed between the SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital and the Association Bound by Love to offer support services to Chinese families that treat their children in the hospital.
SJD Hospital has been treating 140 patients from China since 2017, especially with leading treatments such as immunotherapy for neuroblastoma, one of the most common childhood cancers.
With the support of the local Chinese community in Barcelona, several Chinese families together with some local Chinese volunteers decided to establish this association in early 2019 to help families during the treatment of their children, usually long-term, in their stay in our country.
The agreement signed with the Association Bound by Love includes the support of families seeking information about the Hospital, help on arrival in Barcelona and counselling about the uses and services of daily life of the region.
The human support they provide to these families is also important in dealing with the experience of treating a child with cancer, often after they have been previously treated in their country.
