Maria Jose Tojo Grandio

She is Chief Nurse at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital. She holds a diploma in Nursing from the E.U.I Sant Joan de Déu (1992-1995), where she also specialised in anaesthesia and resuscitation nursing in 2005.

She began working in management at Sant Joan de Déu in 2010 and became head nurse on duty on the late-night shift. Three years later she became care coordinator at BCNatal (SJD branch), where she manages the Women's Area (Obstetric Block where the ICU, three hospitalisation units and the gynaeco-obstetric consulting rooms are inaugurated).

Between 2015 and 2016 she completed a master's degree in Hospital Management at the Universitat de Barcelona.

In 2017 she held the position of care coordinator at BCNatal in SJD of the Obstetric Block and the Women's Department. Shortly after, she also went on to manage and lead the implementation of maternal-fetal surgery.

In January 2019, she was appointed head of the Nursing Area of the children's hospitalisation process. Three years later, in July 2022, she took up her current position as Chief Nurse.
