I am a doctor and anaesthetist, specialising in clinical epidemiology, with a sub-specialisation in pain medicine and palliative care, and advanced training in paediatric chronic pain at McGill University in Canada. I also hold a Master’s degree in Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, which complements my clinical experience with a focus on innovation and research. I am currently a paediatric anaesthetist in the Anaesthesiology Department at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, where I head the Paediatric Pain Unit. Alongside this, I am involved in academic and research work as an associate professor at FUCS University and as a researcher in anaesthesia and pain management.

My career has focused particularly on paediatric pain, chronic and complex pain, regional anaesthesia, palliative care and innovation in healthcare. At SJD Barcelona, I aim to consolidate and develop the Pain Unit as a centre of excellence in clinical care, academia and research. My objective is to promote models of integrated care, innovation and knowledge generation that contribute to improving the quality of life of paediatric patients experiencing pain. I believe in curiosity, scientific excellence and empathy; in identifying clinical needs and not accepting as inevitable those realities that we can change.
