Documentation required to admit an international patient

Before arranging an appointment at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, our medical team must assess the case. To do this the Healthcare for international patients form must be completed.

The language of communication with the medical team may be Spanish or English. The Hospital may provide traslations service in other languages.

While 100% of the medical care budget must be paid in advance, if, at the time of discharge, if 100% of the budget has not been used up, the remaining deposit will be returned to the payers.

In Barcelona there is a wide range of hotels, apartments and hostels available, and family activities. Our team can recommend you accommodation close to the Hospital and suited to your needs.

Fortunately, this disease affects children only slightly, which allows our centre, which specialises in maternal and child health, to maintain optimal conditions.
