As well as providing medical care to patients and access to the services and departments included in the treatment proposal, our International Department can help you organise certain aspects of your arrival and stay at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital.
Prior to your travel
In order for the International team to be able to assess your case and offer appropriate treatment, the following information must be provided:
- A PDF copy of the most recent medical reports in either English or Spanish.
- Diagnostic imaging in DICOM format.
- A copy of the patient's passport and the parents’ passports.
- Depending on the disease, videos or photos, to allow doctors to better assess the case.
- Depending on the disease, you may be asked to complete a form.
Once we begin the process of welcoming you to the Hospital, we can help you with your visa application.
Other services
At SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, we offer several services to facilitate both your arrival and your stay at the Hospital. Our staff can help you get to and from the airport, look for accommodation close to SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, and provide an interpreter to ensure you understand everything at appointments.
Our team can help organise your transfer from Barcelona airport to the Hospital, and from the hospital to the airport when you return home.
Our staff speak several languages. If needed, we can provide an interpreter for appointments to ensure you can understand what the medical team are explaining to you. Interpretation services are included in your medical care quote.
There are many hotels, apartments and hostels in Barcelona. We also have information on our website to help find accommodation close to the Hospital that is suited to your needs. Prices and availability of accommodation may vary significantly depending on the time of year.
