SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital is a private, non-profit university hospital, dedicated exclusively to pregnant women, children and adolescents under the age of 18. Our hospital is highly specialised in the treatment of complex pediatric disease, and we treat both national and international patients.

We are part of the Hospitaller Order of the Brothers of St. John of God, a non-profit organisation with more than 450 healthcare facilities across more than 50 countries. With a history going back more than 150 years, we are one of the most active pedatric hospitals in Europe.

At SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, we are an international stand-out in more than 40 pediatric specialisations, with each one focusing on treating specific diseases and offering advanced treatments. These include:

  • Oncology and Hematology: We specialise in the treatment of leukemia, neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, and sarcoma, using advanced therapies such as immunotherapy and gene therapy.
  • Neurosciences: We treat neurological and neurosurgical disorders, including complex epilepsy and brain tumours, using techniques such as minimally invasive neurosurgery and deep brain stimulation.

SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital has 69 accreditations recognising –among other aspects – the clinical expertise of our units, our research capabilities, our capacity for information exchange and working as part of a network, and the preparation of our staff and facilities.

These accreditations put us on the map of European Reference Networks (ERNs) for rare diseases and among the ranks of pediatric reference centers recognised by the Spanish and Catalan Ministries of Health.

  • European Reference Networks (ERNs) Accreditations: The Hospital is accredited in 21 of 24 ERNs.
