An agreement between SJD and SLAOP establishes TeLeo as a key platform for paediatric oncology training in Latin America

SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital and the Latin American Society of Paediatric Oncology (SLAOP) have signed a collaboration agreement recognising TeLeo as the leading educational platform of choice in paediatric oncology.
TeLeo, Tele-education in Paediatric Oncology, is a distance learning programme launched by SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital, aimed at healthcare professionals working in paediatric oncology, particularly in Latin America. Through free, high-quality online training, the programme aims to broaden access to specialist training, strengthen professional networks and address the specific needs of the region.
This agreement represents a significant milestone for TeLeo, as it consolidates a training platform built by and for Latin America, designed to promote scientific updates and the exchange of knowledge among professionals, in direct connection with the realities and challenges of the region. It also formalises the link with the most representative scientific society in Latin American paediatric oncology, which boasts an extensive network of professionals, collaborative groups and researchers.
The partnership ensures an active role for leading Latin American experts in TeLeo’s educational activities and opens up new opportunities for coordination and collaboration between the two initiatives. All of this will help to enhance the reach, regional exchange and impact of academic and scientific initiatives aimed at the paediatric oncology community in Latin America.
According to Guillermo Chantada, head of the Outreach Programme at the SJD Paediatric Cancer Centre, “For TeLeo and SJD, joining the SLAOP family is also a source of particular excitement. It is a community deeply committed to collaborative work, regional exchange and the comprehensive care of children and adolescents with cancer throughout the region.”
The SJD and the TeLeo team would like to thank all the individuals, institutions and teams that have contributed to the growth of this project and reaffirm their commitment to a paediatric oncology sector that is increasingly connected, collaborative and accessible throughout Latin America.
