Testimony of the father of Jukeiver, a patient from Venezuela with retinoblastoma

In this video, Jukeiver’s father explains to us his experience at our hospital, and Dr Jaume Catalá tells us what treatment he administered to this patient.

Jukeiver was diagnosed in Venezuela with retinoblastoma, the most common tumour found in children. In most cases, specialists at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital are able to treat these patients with intra-arterial chemotherapy. In Jukeiver’s case, the disease had advanced so far that they had to opt for the enucleation of the eye in order to prevent the disease from spreading to other organs.
