Gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition: what makes us different?

Wide-ranging experience

  • We visit more than 10,000 patients a year, or approximately 40 a day .
  • We incorporate new technologies to care for our patients. Last year we conducted 1,532 telematic consultations.

Multidisciplinary approach to different diseases

  • At our clinic, 1 in 5 patients suffers from inflammatory bowel disease. We take a multidisciplinary approach in order to treat Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. In addition to medical care, we consider nutritional, psycho-social and familial aspects. Through telephone and e-mail we are continually in contact with our patients in order to react quickly to a possible flare-up of a condition or other problems.
  • We have a special programme for the treatment of eating disorders in which the Psychiatry and Gastroenterology Departments work together closely.
  • We also perform global and comprehensive assessments of other conditions, such as metabolic disorders, motor disorders and familial and hereditary dyslipidaemia, etc.

Diagnostic tests adapted for children

  • The diagnostic techniques we use, including colonoscopy and endoscopy, are adapted for children, and we have professionals in anaesthesia who are qualified and have significant experience treating paediatric patients.
  • We often do lab tests to look for markers present in bodily fluids (blood, urine and faeces). In this way we avoid the use of more invasive testing.
