Being able to request an online second opinion allows families living outside of Spain to confirm a diagnosis or treatment without having to travel – saving them time and money from the comfort of their own home.
At SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, we offer an online medical consultancy service, designed to facilitate contact between families of international patients and our first-class medical team. Internationally recognised pediatrics and pregnancy specialists assess the patient’s medical history alongside any information or test results that are provided, with the aim of evaluating the case, giving an informed opinion, and proposing different treatment options.
What is an online second opinion at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital?

Our medical team will study and analyse all clinical documentation and medical reports (laboratory tests, imaging studies, etc.) that the family provides us and will assess the case before the day of the consultation.
Once the documentation has been reviewed, we will assess the case and any possible diagnosis with you via video call. If requested, we will also offer various treatment options.
One of our leading specialists will draft a second opinion report, in which we will include a recommendation for possible treatment.
Keep in mind that an online second opinion does not include any tests. When there is no diagnosis or previous treatment proposal, you can request an initial medical consultation with our specialists.
