SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, among the best paediatric hospitals in the world

Newsweek's new World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2026, compiled by Statista, has been published. The Hospital has been listed among the world's top 250 paediatric hospitals since 2024 (position 202), and this year we have achieved position 173. This ranking is compiled based on:

• Online survey of professionals.
• Hospital accreditations.
• Survey on the implementation of PROMs.

Since 2024, this international ranking has recognised SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital as experts in paediatric oncology treatments. In addition, by 2026 we have been awarded 2 PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures), a quality measure established on the basis of standardised questionnaires completed by families to determine how they perceive their health, quality of life and the impact of the disease or treatment on their daily lives.

World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026

For the first time, the Hospital has also appeared in the World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026 ranking, also compiled by Newsweek in collaboration with Statista. This ranking recognises the 350 leading hospitals worldwide in the implementation of smart technologies in healthcare. SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital has achieved three awards, the maximum possible, with more than 90% of the score in at least nine out of ten topics answered.

These awards are a very important milestone for the Hospital and its professionals, and are highly valued internationally.
