She is Chief Nursing Officer at the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital. Her work focuses on guiding nurses and auxiliary nurses with the aim of achieving the Hospital's objectives, in a setting of quality and healthcare efficiency and in the frame of the Institutions values. She is a member of the Hospital's Management Committee, president of the Nursing Management Committee and she is an active member of the Healthcare Operations Group, as well as of other standing Committees.

She studied Nursing at the Sant Joan de Déu School of Nursing (1981 - 1984). She is a specialist in Paediatric and Geriatric nursing. She took postgraduate courses in Natural Therapies at the University of Barcelona and has undertaken various postgraduate studies related with the sphere of leadership and healthcare management. She holds a Master's degree in Nursing Administration and Management and a Master's degree in Nursing Sciences (2004).

At the start of her career, in 1982, she worked as an auxiliary nurse in a number of different hospitals, including SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital. As a nurse, in 1985 she began working at Hospital Clínic until 1988 when she joined the Barcelona primary health care transport team (SAMU) as a coordinator. In 1990, she returned to Hospital Clínic to hold different management posts within the Nursing Department.

As regards the teaching, she has worked as a placement tutor at the University of Barcelona and as a lecturer in the Master's degree in Hospital Management and Healthcare Services, as well as in the Master's degree in Paediatric Nursing, both at the University of Barcelona.

She has co-authored two articles concerning the management of emergency services and one on magnet hospitals. Between 2009 and 2013, she collaborated in the reviewing of articles in the journal "Emergencias".
