Carlota Rovira Zurriaga

As a consultant specialist in Pathological Anatomy at the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, I focus my activity on the diagnosis of paediatric oncological pathology and on various research and teaching projects. I am part of the IMPERAS Project and I collaborate with the Precision Oncology Programme together with the Molecular Oncology Department. I have led the implementation of rapid intraoperative cytological diagnosis in the operating theatre, especially in the field of bone and soft tissue tumours.

In addition, I am a member and pathology consultant in the Vascular Anomalies and Haemangiomas Unit and the Sexual Development Disorders Unit at the hospital.

My training includes a Graduation in IPPA Advanced Course in Paediatric Pathology, and I have been the local organiser of the XXXVIII Advanced Course in Paediatric Pathology of the IPPA. Since September 2023, I have been part of the organising committee of the Paediatric Pathology Society (PPS), where I currently serve as chair of the Organising Subcommittee. Since February 2024, I have also been coordinating the SEAP paediatric pathology working group.
